Design and production art
Mesaba Airlines, a commuter airline associated with Northwest Airlines, asked for a design to commemorate their having won "Regional Airline of the Year." This design features a white-on-silver application of their coverage area. The silvery effect isn't just the base color of the aluminum — we applied a subtle gradient along the fuselage to accentuate the sheen. An additional fun challenge involved the coverage area map which appeared on both sides of the fuselage. Rather than having flight paths abruptly terminate at the top of the fuselage, I created custom wraparound artwork that managed to link the northerly flight paths on one side with those from the other side without making either side appear inaccurate.
